• Self Retained Threaded Cage Nuts

Cage Nuts, also known as "nut retainers," combine the best advantages of spring steel fasteners with the high strength of a multi-threaded nut. Self-retaining, these nuts snap readily into bolt-receiving position at center-panel locations. Their application does not require special tools or skills, eliminating the need for special operations. They can be applied at any convenient spot along the assembly line after painting or porcelainizing, thus eliminating the need for masking or re-taping clogged threads. The nut floats within the spring steel cage more than enough to account for normal build variation. No other line of heavy duty fasteners offers so many advantages for blind location assembly.

  • Front Mounting Cage Nuts

Blind assembly costs are cut in half with these Front Mounting Cage Nuts. They are quickly tipped into the mounting hole from the front side and drifted into locked position behind the panel with a simple awl-like tool. Two wing-like spring legs at either side of the captive cage nut provide spring tension to hold it in bolt-receiving position and allow slight lateral movement to compensate for normal build variations. A shallow emboss allows flush mounting of mating panels.

  • Self-Retaining T-Type Spot Weld Nuts

Weld Nuts are self-retaining, fully-threaded nuts used in blind locations. Available in a variety of styles, weld nut retainers are spot welded to the application.

  • Plastic and Metal Cage Nuts

These Plastic and Metal Cage Nuts are helicoid retaining nuts especially suited for the automotive industry. They are mounted directly on the equipment complete with their screw. The cage is made from Polyamide 66 and the nut is plated steel.

  • Self-Retaining Single Thread Tuning Type Nuts

Tuning Type Nuts are multi-functional, vibration-proof fasteners that are easily snapped in place without special skills or tools. Spring steel fingers of the clip snap past the panel as inserted holding the coil forms firmly in place on the chassis. Special tension fingers bear against the adjusting screw to assure vibration-resistant fine tuning adjustment and trouble-free service.

  • Heavy-Duty Cage-Nuts

EFC offers many types of Heavy Duty Cage-Nuts from weld-style to snap-in to rivet-in-place to tab-in-place.

    • Many design variations are available, including custom. Popular designs include the two-piece style with ‘floating’ nuts in a cage. The floating nut allows for movement in all axes to aid in alignment.
    • Heavy-duty cage-nuts can achieve clampload with less torque.
    • Application examples include seat attachments, interior cargo fastener, fuel tank hold-downs and small footprint locations in automotive and heavy truck applications.
    • Some cage-nuts available as True Class 10 product and in thread-sizes from M8 through M14 depending on volume.
