In Metal Applications: Self-Retaining T-Nut Fasteners are typically spot welded or projection welded with the flange attached to a base plate. They may also be snapped into holes. Either way, they obviate costly tapping and simplify design.
In Non-Metallic Applications: Self-Retaining T-Nut fasteners are usually driven into holes. They may provide threads and add strength to relatively weak materials. Some T-Nut fasteners for non-metallic applications may be fed and applied automatically.
