Self-Threading Washer Type Nuts are turned onto non-threaded studs which eliminates the cost of cutting threads while permitting simpler, more cost-effective designs. In addition, the stud material is displaced with no swarf; there is no binding from dirt and no damaged threads. Prevailing torque provides excellent vibration resistance.
